(1) WHY did our ridiculous government have to call it Family Day? The lamest, saddest, most dire label they could think of…because, for some reason, there aren’t four billion OTHER possibilities that could prevent the population from gagging? What about John A. MacDonald Day? THAT would have made far more sense…
They might as well have called it Mushy-Love Day! Turn away in shame from our provincial government…they’re using Simpsons logic! :-/
(2) The verdict on last night’s new Knight Rider? The car was cool, the acting was competent, David Hasselhoff’s cameo was understated…overall, it was pretty disposable entertainment, but it did the job. If it goes to series, I’ll have to considering watching it…perhaps.
But it certainly didn’t fire all of my geeky 1980s receptors. Not exactly a ringing endorsement…AND I DIDN’T GET ANY TURBO BOOST, DAMMIT!
(3) They have pushed back the release date of Star Trek to summer 2009. Apparently, they want a release window with greater earning potential…and yet, couldn’t it have been THE action/adventure movie of the holiday season? How many other blockbusters open on Christmas Day?
This gives me one less geeky distraction over Christmas. Thank god Doctor Who is still there to fill the gap. ;-)
